Short programme description
The theme for the spring edition of EUTOPIA Innovation Challenges at the University of Gothenburg (GU) is The Sustainable City.
Gothenburg is widely recognised for its long-term work with sustainability. The city has received international recognition for its efforts in environmental and social sustainability, including repeated high rankings in global sustainability indexes for cities and destinations. Gothenburg is also part of the EU initiative for climate-neutral and smart cities, aiming to reach climate neutrality by 2030. These ambitions make Gothenburg a relevant and inspiring context for this year’s innovation challenge.
Students will explore case-based challenges related to sustainable mobility, urban and place development, social sustainability, and sustainable meetings and events. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, participants will develop innovative ideas that contribute to more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.
