Projects
Through diverse research and exhibition projects, the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections establishes wide-ranging publicity for TU Dresden's collections – beyond the frontiers of disciplines and academic contexts. Its aim is to make the collections accessible to a broad public, as conveyors of meaning in scientific practice as well as sources of science history, further to their use in artistic discourses, in the context of current research questions, and in didactic practices.
The Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections' Research Projects
Thanks to ongoing exploration and analysis, the collections are increasingly becoming the focus of interdisciplinary research projects. These plans are conducive to the further examination of the University's museum items, as well as their integration into new cultural contexts and transdisciplinary networking in the sense of TU Dresden's Mission Statement. Through various innovative exhibition and learning formats, such as the Art Science labs or Schaufler Residency@TU Dresden on the one hand, and the ongoing digitization and documentation on the other, the collections have recently gained wider public awareness reaching far beyond the frontiers of the University.
The research projects initiated by the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections were supported in the past by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German Research Foundation.
