Practical seminar "Men's health" organized by the Saxony State Office for Men's Work
Men live 5-6 years shorter than women, but that needn´t be. They are considered a difficult clientele for health promotion, but many offers simply don't strike a chord with them. Sharpen your awareness of the diversity of male needs and interests. In a two-day training course on November 28-29, Stefan Beier, sociologist, body and movement therapist, men's coach and couples counselor, educational consultant for men's health at the Saxony State Office for Men's Work (Landesfachstelle Männerarbeit Sachsen), will highlight men's specific interests and approaches to health, as these are not self-explanatory. Curiosity instead of helplessness and attention instead of stereotyping should help therapists to improve men's health. In addition to the basics of men's health, the training also focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of male socialization and male life-worlds, including the question of how men are and are not seen. There will be room for participants to share their own experiences and questions from practice. Information and registration can be found here: Practical seminar on men's health.
