Queer Parenthood
Queer topics are hardly found in the medical curriculum, so that doctors are often insufficiently informed about queer people and their life situations. This results in fear of contact and misconceptions, which in unfavorable cases can also have an effect on medical practice. One particular aspect of this is queer parenting. The interdisciplinary event series of the critical doctors (kritische Mediziner:innen) Dresden, jointly organized with the queer peer counseling of the TU Dresden, the university group GENOW, Gerede e.V. and the Complaints Office of the TU Dresden, therefore focuses precisely on this topic in order to promote queer health and break with heteronormative family images. In DIY workshops, book and film screenings, queer people are to be empowered as well as multipliers and networked. The series begins May 15, 2023, and more information can be found here.
