Symposium GenderExcellence
What do an art performance, Stanford University and a structural concept have to do with gender excellence? They are the prelude to a four-year project for the consideration of gender aspects in research at the TU Dresden. In a symposium on November 2, Prof. Dr. Londa Schiebinger, professor of history of science at Stanford University and director of the EU/US project Gendered Innovations in Science, Health & Medicine, Engineering, and Environment, will give input on the need for gender-sensitive research, and Prof. Dr. Tomas Brage, Professor of Mathematical Physics at Lund University, will provide insight on the integration of gender aspects in STEM. A panel discussion moderated by Romina Stawowy will bring together representatives from different disciplines at TU Dresden to discuss the relevance of integrating gender aspects in future research. All TU members are cordially invited to discuss together which structures the TU Dresden needs to strengthen genderexcellent research. The symposium will take place both in presence in the Dülfersaal and hybrid via zoom. All further details about the program can be found at https://tud.link/sfln. In order for your interests and needs to be included, you are also invited to take part in an online survey prior to the symposium.
