Symposium "Women in Life Sciences - spotlight on careers"
Did you know that today, February 11th, is the "International Day of Women and Girls in Science"? What a perfect occasion to invite you to the upcoming symposium “Woman in Life Sciences – Spotlight on Careers”, which will showcase the research and careers of successful women in the life sciences. Taking place on Thursday, 6th March 2025, 1 pm – 5 pm at the CRTD (Fetscherstr. 105, 01307 Dresden), auditorium, the symposium hosts Prof. Kerstin Bartscherer (University Osnabrück) and Prof. Anne Grapin-Botton (MPI-CBG) as keynote speakers, who will present their research. This will be complemented with selected short talks from female speakers from around Germany. A Career Panel Discussion with female group leaders will offer insights into different career paths, about what the panellists love about their current positions and what tips they have for early-career researchers. During the symposium, there will be opportunities to meet the speakers and to network with other students and colleagues, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and building new connections. This symposium is jointly organized by Prof. Mareike Albert (CRTD), Prof. Franziska Knopf (CRTD) and Dr. Josephine Bageritz (University Heidelberg), and aims at inspiring early-career scientists to pursue academic careers, and highlights the progress that has been made towards gender equality at TUD. All interested individuals are warmly invited to participate and engage in this important discussion. You can find the full program here: Women in Science 2025
