Dr. Future – Medical technology from Dresden ScienceA look inside: try out and understand endoscopy
What is an endoscopy and how does it work? Why is a colonoscopy so important for bowel cancer screening? What happens during a gastroscopy and how do these examinations work? On Gastrointestinal Day, you can find out more about the two endoscopic examinations. The doctor Dr Franz Brinkmann will use two simulators to show you how gastroscopies and colonoscopies work. He explains why colonoscopy is currently the most reliable method for the early detection of bowel cancer and answers questions. Under his guidance, you can try out the examinations yourself with a real endoscope on the simulator and demonstrate your dexterity.
An event to mark Gastrointestinal Day.
The exhibition will be open until 7.30 p.m. on the occasion of the hands-on offer.
The original start time of 4 pm has been brought forward to 1 pm.
Admission is free. No pre-booking required.
