Professor Stefan R. Bornstein honoured with the Berthold Medal at the 67th German Congress of Endocrinology
Professor Stefan R. Bornstein received the Berthold Medal, the highest award of the German Society of Endocrinology (DGE), at the 67th German Congress of Endocrinology. This honour recognises Prof. Bornstein’s extraordinary achievements in clarifying the interactions between hormones and the immune system. His significant research has enabled him to develop innovative therapeutic approaches for patient care, which contribute significantly to improving the treatment of endocrine and immunological diseases.
The award took place in the context of the Berthold Lecture, in which Professor Bornstein gave an insight into his scientific work with his lecture on “Diabetes, Endocrinology and Infectious Diseases”. The award of the Berthold Medal underlines Professor Bornstein’s commitment to endocrinology and once again recognises the importance of hormone research for medicine and healthcare.
