Project Overview
The joint research project of the TU Dresden and the "AOK PLUS - The Health Insurance Fund" entitled "Needs-oriented and target group-specific prevention of psychological stress and stress in study environments and university life environments" (TUDo!) has started successfully.
A package of measures to strengthen mental health is to be developed and scientifically evaluated. This includes the health-promoting design of studies and employment at the TU as well as the health-preserving handling of mental stress. It is not just about enabling healthier working and studying with specific preventive measures. Rather, university employees as well as students should be able to have a higher degree of health self-determination and health competence.
The study is carried out by the Institute and the Polyclinic for Occupational and Social Medicine (IPAS) in cooperation with the Institute for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the TU Dresden.
Our project is carried out in three phases. An initial survey of employees and students is planned at the start of the project (phase 1) in order to create a needs-based range of preventive measures and to create a basis for later checking the effectiveness of the measures. This is followed by the allocation to preventive measures and the implementation of the interventions (phase 2). Finally, the evaluation of the results and the ongoing implementation of suitable measures are ensured (phase 3). In phase 3 a follow-up survey of the employees of initially two of the five organizational units of the TU Dresden is planned about two years after the initial survey.
Work package 1 is carried out under the leadership of the Institute and Polyclinic for Occupational and Social Medicine and jointly directed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Seidler, Prof. Dr. Susanne Knappe and Jun.-Prof. Dr. Sophie Baumann.
Work package 2 offers new, app-based training modules on the topics of stress management, sleep, relaxation, nutrition, exercise, body satisfaction, dealing with addictive substances, social skills, test anxiety and emotion regulation. Work package 2 is led by Prof. Dr. Corinna Jacobi.
The duration of the cooperation is initially planed until spring 2023.
