Alcohol Taxes as Life Savers - A Research Paper (w)Rapped up
As part of the Master´s course Biology in Society, students learn a hands-on approach to science communication. Based on scientific papers students have come up with creative ways of sharing each paper´s key points. Recalling scientific findings has never been easier: this catchy tune will be playing on loop in your head all day – guaranteed!
In this song Biology in Society students Karl Altstadt, Gabriel Pinto & Sebastian Pötzsch have captured the contents of a paper on alcohol taxation and public health benefits. The 2021 paper “Modelling the impact of increased alcohol taxation on alcohol-attributable cancers in the WHO European Region” involving the TU Dresden, has found that higher alcohol taxes could save thousands of lives.
