Welcome
The „JungChemikerForum“ (JCF) is the youth organisation of the German Chemical Society (GDCh e. V.). We represent the interests of nearly 10.000 members, most of which are students and young professionals. Hence, we form almost one third of the entire society and are continuously growing since our foundation in 1997. We are organized in more than 50 local groups, that organize lots of events at their respective home universities.
We consider it as our most meaningful task, to support our members at important transitions in their professional live. We aim to build bridges that connect chemistry and society and want to create widespread interest into science. We want to motivate young people to embark on a career in chemistry and try to facilitate the entry into the academic world. Furthermore, it is important to us, to create opportunities for our members to network across regions and borders. At the transition from the university towards a career in industry or academia we try to provide orientation with our events.
The local JCF group in Dresden represents more than 200 young members and organizes symposia, industry tours and other interesting events on a regular basis. To provide a versatile program we rely on fresh spirit and innovative ideas. If you have proposals or are interested in our work, just join our next meeting, in which we discuss our future plans in an relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is welcome here – from first years to postdocs
