TUD welcomes Polish guest researcher Dr. Joanna Feder-Kubis from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology
Dr. Joanna Feder-Kubis is currently serving as a guest researcher in the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry I at the TUD, through the Dresden Senior Fellowship and the Eleonore Trefftz Program. During her time in Dresden, which will span from September 2023 to December 2024, Dr. Feder-Kubis will focus on the use of tailored ionic liquids in specific applications such as for supercapacitors, metal organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and the solubilization of metal oxides with the goal of enhancing the functionality of these materials. In addition to this research, an international workshop and seminar will be organized as part of the fellowship program. These events will provide a platform for PhD students to present their research, fostering opportunities for them to interact and build valuable networks for future collaborations.
After receiving her Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 2008 from Poznan University of Technology, Dr. Feder-Kubis moved on to the Wroclaw University of Science, where she received her Habilitation in 2020 and has since served as an Associate Professor. She researches the design and synthesis of organic compounds, especially those with ionic nature. She is currently focusing her research on improving sustainability of these compounds by understanding how various ionic systems can influence the properties of the final products. By considering their functionality, cost, and production processes, she works to develop organic materials that have a real potential for implementation. She is the author of more than 140 scientific documents, including publications, monographs, book chapters and patents. Throughout her career, she has received more than 75 prestigious international awards and honors for her contributions to scientific and inventive endeavors.
