Promoting mobility abroad
Nowadays, mobility and stays abroad are more important than ever for a scientific career.
This includes international networking as well as doing research abroad. For Dresden early career scientists who are planning a stay abroad, there are various funding opportunities for researching or teaching abroad or for participation in international conferences. In this context, it is important to plan and look for financial support at an early stage. Application deadlines often only come around once or twice a year.

EU Erasmus funding program
The ERASMUS+ University Programis an EU funding program that promotes the academic exchange of students, doctoral candidates and lecturers between international universities. Under the program, TU Dresden concludes bilateral ERASMUS agreements with European and non-European partner universities. These agreements specify the duration, the number of exchange places and, in particular, the subjects of the exchange students or lecturers.
In addition to study visits at European partner universities, internships are also funded.
The Erasmus+ program funds doctoral students during their doctoral studies in the same way as Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
During their studies or their doctorate, students and doctoral candidates can take advantage of the unique opportunity to gain valuable supported experience abroad for 2 to 12 months (for Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral candidates).
The Erasmus+ program also supports the continuing education of academic and non-academic staff.
Doctoral students are funded during their doctoral studies in the same way as Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
