Study at the Chair for Neutron Spectroscopy of Condensed Matter
Join our team to participate in the cutting-edge neutron research and become part of an international community of scientists pursuing multiple exciting research projects in solid-state physics and material science. We are regularly seeking qualified candidates at the diploma, doctoral and postdoctoral level. The highlight of the work in our group is the possibility to travel and perform experiments worldwide at large-scale neutron facilities in Europe and overseas. Our group also benefits from a dense network of collaborations within Dresden, in the whole of Germany, and all over the world.
Nuclear reactor on campus
Did you actually know that TU Dresden operates its own training reactor on campus? The nuclear reactor AKR-2 (acronym for Ausbildungskernreaktor) ist the most modern training reactor in Germany, which offers many educational courses in the framework of a student practicum. The reactor is operated by the Chair for Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy. Various excursions and information programs are offered for interested visitors, including secondary school pupils, covering main questions concerning nuclear energy, controlled nuclear fission, nuclear safety and radiation protection. The members of our group recently had a chance to visit the reactor and participate in the experiments.
