CANCELLED Seminar: Measuring the hadronic corrections to the muon g-2

The recent Fermilab result has confirmed the long standing discrepancy between the direct measurement and the Standard Model (SM) prediction of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, g-2. We report on a series of measurements in the area of hadronic physics aiming for an improvement of the SM precision within a data-driven approach. The current status of this program as well as an outlook for the future is given. Furthermore, we also report on searches for light dark sector particles, which have been proposed as a possible solution for the g-2 discrepancy. Experiments of this kind are carried out at high-energy colliders, but also at low-energy, high-intensity electron accelerators such as MAMI and the future MESA facility in Mainz.
