After research and teaching positions at the Universität Hamburg, Indiana University, the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Kansas, I have held the Chair of Theory of Condensed Matter in the Faculty of Physics at the TU Dresden since 2008. Currently, I also serve as Dean of the Faculty. My current research areas can be found here. While I am no longer the international officer of the Physics Department, I am happy to share my experience at U.S. universities with any students who are thinking about studying abroad.
