Alles fließt - Physikalisches rund ums Wasser | ||
Das Element Wasser, seine Eigenschaften und seine Gewalt, fasziniert die Menschen von jeher. Strömungseigenschaften von Wasser und anderen Flüssigkeiten spielen in zahlreichen Zusammenhängen eine wichtige Rolle, angefangen vom Blutkreislauf bis hin zu Ozeanströmungen. Strömungen können glatt verlaufen, aber auch aufregende Effekte zeigen. Dies liegt vor allem an der nichtlinearen Dynamik von Strömungen. Neben gut nachvollziehbaren Phänomenen wie Strömungen zum Ausgleich von Unterschieden, zum Beispiel aufgrund von Druckunterschieden, oder ungeahnten Reibungseffekten bietet die Physik der Strömungen auch viele erstaunliche Erscheinungen: den Übergang von laminaren zu turbulenten Strömungen, Wirbelbildung bei der Umströmung von Körpern und Musterbildung. Beispiele hierfür sind die Benardzellen und die Taylor-Couette-Strömung. Die zahlreichen Phänomene und die Besonderheiten der nichtlinearen Dynamik werden mit Experimenten veranschaulicht und erklärt.
