Junior Research Group Human Perception and Action in Technology (HPAT)
We are a junior research group at TU Dresden, part of the Cluster of Excellence CeTI (Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop). Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) as part of Germany’s Excellence Strategy – EXC 2050/2 – Project ID 390696704, CeTI focuses on enabling seamless collaboration between humans and machines in both real and virtual environments through intelligent communication networks and cyber-physical systems.
Our research focuses on advancing the understanding of human perception, action, and human-technology interaction through the integration of insights from cognitive neuroscience, psychology, and human factors research. Specifically, we study the neural and cognitive mechanisms underlying information processing and interaction with technological systems.
Through our interdisciplinary approach, we contribute to CeTI’s goals of designing advanced sensors, actuators, and real-time human-machine interaction models. Our work directly supports CeTI’s aim of fostering efficient and intuitive cooperation between humans and machines, ensuring that technological advancements are informed by a deep understanding of human behavior and cognition. As part of this collaborative effort, we are proud to contribute to CeTI’s mission of pushing the boundaries of human-machine interaction and creating transformative innovations for society.
