Risk management as concept of consumer protection for participants in games of chance
One research focus of the work group is concerned with risk management in connection with participation in games of chance. The regulation of gambling is an ethical, scientific and political "minefield". The aim of minimising the risk is a tightrope walk between the interests of the majority of unproblematic "social" (resilient) players in the free exercise of their behaviour and the protection of a minority of "vulnerable" players whowould suffer or are currently suffering considerable damage without help and external control. Our research contributes to the evidence-based design of consumer protection.
