Creating Climate-Resilience Solutions for Water Challenges: Joint Transfer Workshop at TU Dresden

International participants discussed innovative nature-based solutions for water-related challenges.
On July 3, 2025, the third edition of the Joint Transfer Workshop was held at TUD Dresden University of Technology. The event was jointly organized by the Global Water and Climate Adaptation Centre (ABCD Centre) and the Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management (CIPSEM).
The workshop brought together international professionals, emerging environmental leaders, and experienced experts from Africa, Asia and Europe to collaboratively address one of the most pressing global challenges of our time: developing solutions to water-related climate risks.
The 35 participants included students from the Indo-German Joint Master’s Program Water Security and Global Change, committed participants and facilitators from CIPSEM’s renowned UNEP/UNESCO/BMUKN environmental management programs, and international students from the long-standing Master’s Program Hydro Science and Engineering at TU Dresden.

During the workshop, the participants engaged in global case studies, practical collaboration, and policy role-play.
The workshop was characterized by a dynamic exchange of knowledge and perspectives. Engineers, scientists, and practitioners shared their experiences, discussed interdisciplinary approaches, and jointly developed innovative ideas. Such collaboration is built on mutual trust, openness, and the shared conviction that global challenges can only be addressed through international cooperation.
This event underscored the critical importance of knowledge transfer and cross-border collaboration—not only for generating new insights, but also for empowering people from diverse backgrounds to co-create resilient solutions for a sustainable future. This also exemplifies TU Dresden’s enduring commitment to fostering global knowledge exchange and cultivating future leadership in the domain of environmental management.
