Mentoring-Program Join Science
For early-career researchers and students
Table of contents
The mentoring program Join Science for early-career researchers and students at TU Dresden supports participants in building, reflecting on and networking in various phases of their own academic career. It is aimed at students from the STEM fields who are interested in an academic career and would like to actively shape their professional future during their studies.
As part of the program, students gain a practical insight into everyday scientific life and have the opportunity to exchange ideas with scientists in personal mentoring sessions. This enables them to learn about different career paths in science and ask their individual questions about doctoral studies at TU Dresden. This will give them a deeper insight into the structures, processes, and regulations of scientific work. In this way, students are guided through their decision-making process and gain greater clarity about whether a doctorate is the right way for them.
For early-career researchers from the Clusters of Excellence and DFG-funded research areas at TU Dresden, the program is a valuable opportunity to share their acquired knowledge and previous experience with students in mentoring sessions. As important contact persons, they play a key role in helping students make the transition from their studies to a possible doctorate. At the same time, they can reflect on their own careers, expand their own network and further develop their skills in science communication.
Registration for 2025 is closed. However, you can now register for the new course round in 2026. If you are interested in taking part, please send an informal email to: mentoringprogramm@tu-dresden.de
