Writing Counselling & other services for your students
Our offerings for students can meaningfully complement your teaching and mentoring processes:
In the student writing consultation, we support students in an individual conversation in their work and writing processes or give them feedback on text drafts. We understand writing consultation as a framework in which students, in addition to the supervision by teachers, can talk about their text and their working methods in a relaxed atmosphere and in which they can sort out their thoughts, address concerns, find solutions and gain clarity.
In writing consultation, the student writing consultants in the Writing Center provide peer-level advice. They have been qualified for their work at the Writing Center, and since they are also students, they can put themselves in the shoes of the students seeking advice.
The student writing consultants do not intervene in the students' texts, but support them according to the principle of helping them to help themselves by actively listening, giving hints and feedback. The goal is to find suitable working strategies together. The responsibility for content, text composition and procedures lies with the students seeking advice, and for technical questions the writing consultants refer to the supervisor.
For more information on the concept of writing consultation and on how to register, see Writing Consultation in our web area for students.

In Writing Consultation, we advise students of all disciplines on all aspects of scientific writing (writing process, working techniques, writing inhibitions, text feedback, scientific writing style, etc.).
We do not include the reading of complete papers with correction of spelling, commas, and stylistic finishing touches. Therefore, we have established a pool of volunteers to whom students can turn for proofreading services.
- Interested students contact us by email at .
- We first invite you to a writing consultation to discuss the exact concern and then refer you to someone in our pool.
- For more information, please visit our proofreading assistance webpage.
