NC (numerus clausus) allocation procedure for new students
Table of contents
When are the allocation procedures carried out?
A numerus clausus (=admission restriction) can be set if the expected number of applicants exceeds the number of places available and a regular course of study cannot be secured without an restriction on admission.
The number of available places on so-called ‘NC courses’ or in ‘NC fields’ is determined annually in the Saxon Admission Numbers Regulation. The selection process for allocating the places in the 1st semester is done in all programmes that lead to a first university degree (undergraduate degree) in accordance with the Higher Education Admission Act and the Saxon Admission Numbers Regulation. The Master’s Allocation Regulation of TU Dresden and the additional selection rules of the faculty apply for programmes that lead to a postgraduate university degree (e.g. master’s degree).

Read our information flyer to find out how an allocation procedure works for a programme with admission restrictions.

The current thresholds will be published here at the end of the procedure.
