Permission to take photographs and record film on TU Dresden’s Campus
Table of contents
TU Dresden's campus is not only a place of learning and research, it also offers ample opportunity for photography and filming. In order to protect the interests of all parties involved and to ensure that everything runs smoothly, the following guidelines for photo and filming permits must be observed. TU Dresden supports creative projects and understands the importance of visual media for education, research as well as for commercial purposes. However, prior permission for photography and filming is mandatory.
Permits
Prior permission is required for all photography and filming on our campus. Please use our online form for this purpose.
Please submit your application at least two weeks before your planned shooting date.
Upon receipt of your request, it will be checked by TU Dresden’s Press Office. We have to make sure that the shooting does not disrupt university operations and that all security and data protection regulations are being observed. You will receive feedback or a written authorization following the evaluation of your request, which you must carry with you on the day of the shooting. Depending on the type and purpose of the shooting, fees may be charged. These fees cover administrative costs, security measures and the possible use of university resources.
Specific notes
- Non-commercial projects: Permits are generally free of charge for student projects and other non-commercial recordings.
- Journalistic projects: We do not charge any fees for shooting in the context of journalistic reporting.
- Commercial projects: Separate fees apply for commercial film and photo shoots. As requests and requirements can vary greatly in their nature, please contact us in advance for information on the expected fees.
- Drone footage: Filming with drones is only permitted on campus with special permission. In addition to the usual application documents, further information and evidence must be provided. Compliance with local aviation regulations is mandatory.
- Data protection: The privacy of our staff and students is our top priority. Please ensure that no identifiable persons are filmed or photographed without their express consent.
We really appreciate your interest in TU Dresden and look forward to supporting your creative projects!
