"Dresden isst bunt – a banquet for all"
On 10 June 2015, from 5pm until 8pm, a long table will be
set up on Altmarkt – and everyone in Dresden is cordially
invited there to have something to eat and to celebrate.
Children and parents, partners and singles, punks and bankers,
meat-eaters and vegans, football fans and volleyball freaks,
neighbours and colleagues will meet up at "Dresden isst bunt –
a banquet for all" to share a feast made up of brought along
beloved dishes, from Eierschecke to couscous salad. In addition
to the culinary delights there will be dancing, games, singing
and music.
TU Dresden is supporting this event with, among other
things, the rectorate taking on responsibility for their own
table: "By doing this, we want to once again show that here in
Dresden, we welcome people from all over the world with open
arms and want to strike up a dialogue with them“, says the TUD
rector, summarising the university management's motivation. "At
the same time, we would also like to call upon all colleagues
and students to follow our example and also take over
sponsoring for individual tables and invite guests to their
table on 10 June!“
Anyone wanting to finance a table can give their application to
Felix Manthei at
or phone: +49(0)351 65287851 by 3 June 2015.
Anyone not wanting to book an entire table is still welcome at
the "banquet for all". If you can, bring dishes, your favourite
food and drink and an abundance of hospitality or even a
musical instrument, etc.
