Tasks and function of the International Students and Staff Officer
TU Dresden strives to continuously improve the quality of support for international students and staff, doctoral students and (early career) researchers. TU Dresden reaffirmed this concern by signing the National Code of Conduct for the Study of Foreigners at German Universities. With the Code, TU Dresden commits to maintaining quality standards in the provision of information, advice, admission and support for international students in order to create excellent framework conditions for them to study successfully.
The main function of the International Students and Staff Officer at TU Dresden is to support international students and staff in improving their living and study conditions if the support offered by the responsible institutions (e.g. International Office, Examination Office, etc.) does not appear to be sufficient. It is the point of contact for international students and staff if the National Code is not adhered to in the areas of administration or teaching. In addition to fulfilling representative tasks and participating in the Standing Committee of the Senate on Equality and Diversity Management, the International Student Representative is also involved in selection procedures and decision-making processes, for example when awarding scholarships.
