Duties and Function of the International Students Commissioner
The TU Dresden continually strives to improve the quality of advising for international undergraduate and graduate students and researchers. The TU Dresden reinforced this objective by signing the National Code of Conduct on Foreign Students at German Universities. With this code, the TU Dresden commits itself to adhering to quality standards for informing, advising, admitting, and guiding foreign students, in order to provide them with excellent conditions for successful study.
The TU Dresden International Students Commissioner has, in particular, the job of supporting foreign students and employees in the improvement of their living and study situations, if the support offered by the appropriate institution (e.g. International Office, Examination Office, etc.) does not seem sufficient. He is a contact person for foreign students and employees, should the Code of Conduct not be observed with respect to administration or instruction. In addition to fulfilling representative duties and participation in the Senate Commission for Equality and Diversity Management, the International Students Commissioner takes part in selection and decision processes, e.g. for the allocation of scholarships.
