The Environment Commission Groups
In addition to its meetings, the Environment Commission organizes itself into various thematic working groups ranging from sustainable digitalization to biodiversity with a direct impact on the campus. In these working groups, projects can be implemented independently (such as the construction of a bee hotel by the Biodiversity Working Group) and corresponding draft resolutions and funding applications can be submitted to the KU for approval. The working groups are open to all members of TU Dresden. They offer an easy way to get involved in concrete projects for sustainability on the TU Dresden campus, even without being a member of the KU. Below you will find a current overview of the Environment Commission's working groups.

As the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services working group, we are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of biodiversity on the TUD campus and in the surrounding area. The aim is to sensitize students, employees and interested parties to the topic through research and practical projects and to motivate them to get involved. We have already created a flowering meadow and an insect hotel and, with the support of the SAB, are providing first-year students with seed bags to make the campus more biodiverse. The aim for the future is to develop a monitoring strategy.

Meetings
The Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Working Group meets online approximately every 6 weeks.
Objective
Digitalization exposes TU Dresden to a continuous and strong transformation process and has both opportunities and problem areas with regard to sustainable development. The strategic objectives of the WG are therefore
- TU Dresden's digital transformation is carried out responsibly and taking into account SDGs.
- TU Dresden uses digitalization to promote its sustainable development.
Specific measures are currently being developed to achieve these goals.
The working group currently consists of six people (employees and students). Further active members are welcome.

The Mobility Working Group is the point of contact for the KU, its members and working groups on issues relating to mobility and its environmental impact. It supports initiatives for an ecological transport transition in Dresden and submits recommendations to the KU. The working group is actively involved in the KONZERT funding project and supports the implementation of the subject-oriented mobility concept, with a focus on promoting low-emission forms of mobility and ecologically sustainable campus development.
