How does the Free State of Saxony support the purchase of a job bike?

Instead of the bicycle leasing expected by many, the Free State has opted for an interest-free advance on the purchase of a bicycle. Applications for an advance can be found in the annex to the administrative regulation on advances

The application should be sent to the State Office for Taxation and Finance, quoting your personnel number.
The advance can be granted up to the amount of the expenses, but no more than EUR 2,600.
For the purchase of a bicycle (No. 8 VwV Vorschüsse), you must confirm that it is a bicycle within the meaning of § 63a StVZO, that the bicycle is/has been neither leased nor purchased in installments and that you have not previously received any other advance for a bicycle under this provision.
You must also state when you bought the bicycle or that you will be buying it soon and enclose or submit proof of purchase. In this case, if the requirements are met, the advance will only be paid after the proof of purchase has been submitted.
