Media Technology in Teaching and Learning Spaces
Unit 8.7 manages the allocation of centrally managed learning spaces for courses, examinations and other learning activities. We are also responsible for the central course management as well as the organization and maintenance of technical equipment in centrally managed learning spaces.
In the current winter semester, training dates for (hybrid) media technology are again offered in the central teaching and learning rooms of TU Dresden. The following dates are available:

Friday, 10.01.2025, 09:20 a.m. in lecture hall FOE/244/H;

Friday, 07.02.2025, 09:20 a.m. in lecture hall FOE/244/H
As there is hardly any difference in the operation of the systems, you can also take part in briefings in rooms in which you do not have any events.
In 2024/2025 winter semester you have the option to book a workplace in different centrally managed learning rooms troughout the TU Dresden campus. You can use the spaces to study, prepare or follow online courses. You will be able to book these learning spaces on the Friday of the preceding week at 2:00 pm. Please follow the link to book your workplace.

Technical Equipment Rental
The Center for Information Services and High-Performance Computing (ZIH) manages the rental of technical equipment. The equipment lending unit is responsible for the loaning and the maintenance of TU Dresden’s video, photo and AV equipment. TU Dresden employees and students alike are welcome to borrow equipment for teaching, research, and study purposes. If you are interested in borrowing equipment, please take note of the operating instructions and forms listed below. There is no charge for borrowing equipment. Students must have their request approved by their Academic Advisor or secretary’s office.

Learning Space Administration
We are responsible for the upkeep of technical equipment in the centrally managed teaching and learning spaces. The maintenance of system components, repairs and replacement of defective cables and equipment, and troubleshooting are our main responsibilities, as is offering training and instruction to teaching staff. We provide technical support and guidance for courses via ongoing training and instruction on new technologies and digital teaching formats.

Lecture Recording and Technical Support for Digital Teaching
As Competence Center we can support you in recording lectures, in producing educational videos for the use of teaching and creating e-learning content. We can also assist you in recording lectures independently as we offer staff training that can help you with planning and the equipment. We can discuss your project goals with you, as well as supplying the equipment and expertise, from recording to delivering the finished video.

If you are planning a one-off event, our event technicians are happy to support you. They can advise you in various event formats, provide equipment and assist with the set up of large events. Depending on the size of your event, please give us good notice of your plans so that we can ensure everything runs smoothly and provide the equipment you need. We work closely with Unit 7.5 Web and Video on video broadcasts and livestreams.

Coordination of Technical Equipment
As technical equipment coordinators, we work together with users, construction managers, contractors and external planners on the installation and modernization of technical equipment in the centrally managed learning and teaching spaces. We offer support for projects from start to end and are available throughout the planning process as your contacts and problem solvers. We are always up to date on the latest developments in AV equipment and open-loop controllers. We incorporate feedback from teaching staff as well as the latest developments in media didactics.
