Psychological Counseling
Dear colleagues, we offer psychological counseling for all employees of TU Dresden on an appointment basis. We try to offer an initial appointment within a maximum of six weeks of the request. In urgent cases, we strive to provide support at shorter notice. In acute crisis situations, you can contact the psychosocial crisis service or the social-psychiatric service of the city of Dresden or, in the event of a suicidal crisis, the emergency number 112.
High demands at work and in one’s private life often lead to conflicts and stress, which cannot be solved independently. We advise you on:
-
Lethargy and symptoms of depression
-
Self-doubt, fear
-
Addictions, risky/harmful use*
-
Stress and inability to recover
-
Being overworked or not challenged enough
-
Uncertainties in dealing with (mentally) ill colleagues
…as well as other professional and private issues that may pose a problem
The psychological counseling is for free and carried out by the psychologists of the Occupational Health Service, who are subject to confidentiality! Our counseling services are open to all TU Dresden employees in technology, administration and science (without university medicine). No matter whether you have a temporary or permanent position, are an apprentice, an employee or a civil servant at TU Dresden – we are there for you! The consultation can take place in both German and English.
Employees of university medicine (university hospital and medical faculty) are kindly requested to contact the Occupational Health and Safety department of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus.
The role of Counselor for Matters of Addictionis located with us, please feel free to contact us.
Goals of the Counseling
The aim of our counseling is to support you in structuring your current situation in order to better understand it, to view it from a different perspective, to examine alternative paths and, in doing so, develop your own solutions. If necessary, we will also inform about further support offers and points of contact. Please feel free to look at our Philosophy of Counseling as well as general principles in advance.
Appointment
For individual counseling, a personal appointment is arranged in advance. Virtual appointments via BigBlueButton are available, too. Please simply indicate your preference. To contact us, please send us an E-Mail with your contact details and a brief summary of your request.
Contact
Please contact us preferably by e-Mail to our mailbox of the Psychological Counseling.
