Funding Focus
The purpose of the Society is to promote teaching and research at the Technical University, to enhance the Technical University’s reputation and influence, and to support the Technical University’s collaboration with other academic institutions, particularly partner universities.
The Society pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of the section “Tax-Privileged Purposes” of the German Tax Code.
This purpose is achieved in particular through:
- supporting teaching and research projects,
- establishing and maintaining contacts between the Technical University and business and industry,
- the promotion and support of highly gifted students and young researchers,
- supporting visiting researchers at the Technical University,
- supporting and organizing academic events to bring together German and international students and researchers,
- fostering relationships between alumni and the Technical University,
- supporting students in emergency situations,
- supporting cultural activities within the Technical University,
- raising funds to support science, education, and culture,
- promoting art and culture at TU Dresden.
