MINT scholarship holders introduced: Ambrosius Göttsch
Since 2019, the GFF has been supporting high school graduates who are beginning their studies at TU Dresden in one of the many STEM subjects with its own scholarship program. We would like to briefly introduce the current cohort in the following months.
The first is Ambrosius Göttsch, 18 years old and a mathematics student.
- That's why I decided to study at TU Dresden:
Because it means I can return to my birthplace and still not have such a long journey home. I also like the beauty of the city and its surroundings. The TUD as a University of Excellence and the close cooperation and support with schools in the area also convinced me with the will to promote young people. - That inspires me:
Finding solutions to problems, as well as building the entire computational structure of evaluating scientific experiments and the basis of today's physical understanding of our universe. - STEM means to me:
A cycle of problems, solutions and new problems again to expand human understanding of the big picture. - I was totally surprised in my first semester:
How fundamentally the lectures are structured and how motivated all fellow students are. In addition, the degree of freedom from choosing modules to dropping out takes some getting used to compared to school. - I would like to be able to answer these question(s) after my studies:
What new questions can I ask and even answer that I can't even ask now? - If you have a message for prospective and/or first-year students, what is it?
Prepare for a change and do something fun, even outside of your studies.
