TU Team AddiTUD wins "Mobility goes Additive" competition
The interdisciplinary AddiTUD team from TU Dresden took first place in the "Mobility goes Additive" student competition. The competition, organized by the Association of German Engineers VDI and the Mobility goes Additive MGA initiative, required 17 teams from Germany, Poland and Switzerland to develop an innovative mobile rescue system using additive manufacturing, including a functional prototype and a convincing pitch.
Within just 48 hours, the team developed a new type of avalanche rescue system that can increase the survival rate by up to 80 percent compared to existing solutions. The jury was particularly impressed by the quantifiable added value, the clear concept and the professional presentation.
The team was made up of engineering, business and design students and made use of their interdisciplinary skills in a targeted manner.
Participation was supported by a grant from the association of friends and sponsors of TU Dresden e.V.
