1st Diversity DAYS at TU Dresden
Experience cultural diversity - the first Diversity Days at the TU Dresden
In order to make the diversity of life situations at our university visible and tangible, the Staff Unit Diversity Management held the first Diversity Days at TU Dresden, dedicated to a core dimension of diversity, the Diversity of Cultures.
The kick-off event was the lecture by Professor Klein from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. Under the heading "Diversity at universities - current challenges and opportunities", the state of research and concrete experiences in the implementation of measures within the German higher education landscape were reported.
Another well-attended highlight of Diversity Days was the exhibition opening of the development policy network titled "White-Black. New perspectives on well-known pictures "as well as the photo exhibition including award ceremony for the TU competition" Make your photo for the Diversity Days 2014! ". Employees and students from a total of 21 countries took part in the photo contest with 64 photos. The winner of the competition is Ms. Denny Napitupulu from Indonesia, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Architecture, with her photo "Science Empowering Diversity". She received a prize of 200 euros. The second prize (100 euros) went to doctoral candidate Mr. Sukhdeep Singh from India and the third prize (50 euros) to Mr. Ivan Soldatov from Russia, also a doctoral student. Prizes and prizes were kindly provided by the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden e.V.
