Katharina Kleinschrot studied Real Estate Engineering and Real Estate Management at the University of Stuttgart. After completing her studies, she worked for LBBW Immobilien Development GmbH in the field of international project development. She then completed her doctorate at the University of Stuttgart, where her core research areas were sustainable construction and construction management. Katharina Kleinschrot then worked in the acquisition of construction projects and as deputy branch manager at Zech Hochbau AG in Berlin before establishing the Sustainability Development department at Zech Group SE as Head of Sustainability.
In April 2023, Katharina Kleinschrot took over the Chair of Construction Technologies and Circular Value Creation at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. As the holder of the Chair, she was the first female professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at TU Dresden.
Her pioneering research in construction process engineering and circular value creation sets new standards for sustainable construction. With extensive experience and expertise, she combines operational construction business with sustainable transformation. She passes on her fascination for the social relevance and versatility of the construction industry to future generations of civil engineers through her teaching.
