Women@DDc Workshop: What comes after PhD in Science?
Show map of this location.
It is especially at PhD level that it is important you get a clear idea of how to pursue a career in science. For this short workshop, we invited four experts to offer information and hands-on accounts on what paths there are in science and how to pursue them.
The workshop starts with a short input by Dr. Patricia Grünberg (Barkhausen Institut), one of the founders of the Women@DDc Network, on the different career paths after the PhD. Subsequently, experienced scientists share their individual career paths:
- Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Elizabeth von Hauff, Chair of Coating Technologies for Electronics, Institute for Solid State Electronics (IFE), TU Dresden, Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP
- Jun.-Prof. M. Sc. Nora Huxmann, Junior Professorship in Planting Design, Institute of Landscape Architecture, TU Dresden
- Dr. rer. nat. Darja Andreev, Research Group Leader, Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD)
There will be room for questions from the audience and for networking. This workshop addresses, in particular, female PhD students.
