TU Dresden Expresses Solidarity with Peaceful Demonstrators in Iran
TU Dresden has been monitoring the developments in Iran with great concern and condemns the brutal crackdown on demonstrators, who since the death of Mahsa Amini have taken to the streets to protest the Iranian leadership's oppression, especially of women. The right to peaceful protest and the respect for human rights are among the international agreements to which Iran is also a signatory.
“Our support is for the students, researchers and employees from Iran,” says Prof.in Dr. Ursula M. Staudinger, Rector of Technische Universität Dresden. “We condemn the use of violence against peaceful demonstrators and declare our solidarity with all civil society actors who are advocating for human rights in the region. We unequivocally oppose the restriction of teaching at universities in Iran,” Prof.in Staudinger states.
TU Dresden offers support to everyone affected by the current situation through our WE-CARE Point of Contact as well as our Psychological Counseling Services.
