Monitoring of Services

Connecting its target systems with the Centreon monitoring system, the user is enabled to have their machines checked for failures and be notified by email in case of emergency. Furthermore, it is possible to view the current state via a web front end, as well as to get an overview of times in the past. In some cases it is possible to have data turned into a graph, to make critical information more accessible and comprehensible.

Services:
- Automatic system check-ups
- Active monitoring, e.g. via SNMP, NRPE, NSClient++
- Passive monitoring via NSCA
- Email notification in case of failure and recovery
- Access toWebfrontend
- Overview over current status
- Event logs (past status)
- Display of graphs of data readings (Performance data)
- Entering maintenance time
Options:
The use of various test scripts (1 / 2), as well as the implementation of individual queries, is possible at any time after consultation.
The use of the service is possible withing the structural departments of the TU Dresden. Access to the webfrontend is via ZIH login and must be requested separately.
The application is made informally via the Service Desk.

Installation times:
Depending on the connection to the monitoring system, installation times may vary between roughly 3-5 work days. If you require simply an extension of the system checks, it may take considerably less time within an already configured system.
If pre-made test scripts cannot be used and an individual development is required, delivery time may take several days or even weeks.
