Our Goal: Shaping Teacher Education at the Regional Level

The TUD | ZLSB Regional Teacher Education Office is a regional hub in Zittau dedicated to promoting teacher education in the Upper Lusatia region. We aim to bring teacher education programs—whether professional development workshops, informational events, or networking meetings—to rural areas.

The Regional Office’s work includes providing guidance, fostering networking, organizing events, and analyzing regional educational needs. As the first regional branch of a teacher education center in Germany, we aim to promote exchange and knowledge transfer between universities and schools, as well as between urban and rural areas. All of this is done with the goal of strengthening teacher education in Upper Lusatia, raising its profile, and addressing the teacher shortage through counseling and events.

Planned Measures:

Establishment of a regional office in Zittau to serve as an interface between the university, schools, training centers, and other education stakeholders to foster sustainable networks.
Development and implementation of projects and exchange events specifically tailored to regional educational needs.
Organizing professional development workshops and networking events to promote the transfer of knowledge and practical expertise.
Promoting collaboration between students and schools in regions with unmet educational needs to foster long-term interest among students in the Upper Lusatia region.

The Regional Office for Teacher Education sees itself as a partner for everyone who wants to actively help shape the educational landscape in Lusatia, particularly Upper Lusatia. Together, we create sustainable structures, promote innovation, and strengthen the region as an attractive educational hub.

We collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders both within and outside TU Dresden. These include, among others:
