Quality Analysis
The Centre for Quality Analysis conducts course evaluations in accordance with university-wide and specialized quality objectives. The ZQA also compiles evaluation reports for each study program based on statistical data from student surveys, instructors, alumni, and the analysis of documents and assessments of professional practice.
The evaluation report contains a comprehensive analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, and conditions in the degree program, as well as recommendations for actions to be taken, when necessary, for ensuring and improving the quality of the study program. Comparisons with other similar study programs in the field as well as statistics from state universities are incorporated into the report. When recommended by the faculty, the analytical instruments can be supplemented with content specific to the study program. The Saxon Higher Education Act (particularly § 9) and the internal Evaluation Regulations of the TU Dresden form the legal framework of the study course evaluations.
Each study program is evaluated as a rule, every five years within the framework of internal university quality management. When conducting quality analysis and creating evaluation reports, the Center for Quality Analysis orientates itself towards national and international standards and in doing so, is not subject to specific instructions. A scientific advisory board provides expert and technical consultation.
A variety of indicators are available for the internal evaluation of the study programs, which can be summed up as the following:
- Professional expertise
- Organization of the study program
- Counseling and support
- Examinations
- Flexibility
- Mobility
- Participation
- University didactic qualifications
