Admission requirements
The double degree program is reserved for students enrolled in the Master's degree program "Literature, Culture and Societal Change" (LiKWa) of the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies at TUD. In order to participate in the Double Degree Program, a separate application is required in the first year of study (by 15.05. of each year).
Application formalities: Letter of motivation incl. CV and overview of grades from the first semester as well as a selection interview.
To participate in the program, applicants are recommended to have at least level B2 Italian according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. An official language certificate is not required, but language skills will be tested during the selection interview.
Further details on admission requirements and the course of study for the Master's degree in Literature, Culture and Societal Change (LiKWa) can be found here: https: //tu-dresden.de/gsw/slk/studium/studienangebot/master-likwa
Course of study and curriculum
The selected students complete a period abroad at the Università Ca' Foscari Venezia in the 3rd semester, during which they acquire at least 30 credit points.
The study plan for the activities to be carried out abroad must be agreed in advance with the program coordinator, Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Tiller. The basis for its creation are defined equivalences between the courses of the partner university CaF and the courses of the TUD, which are listed in the cooperation agreement and in the document below.
Procedure and equivalences bilingual
The courses at the partner university and the associated oral examinations are held in Italian, so a sufficient level of Italian is essential.
At the host university Ca' Foscari, intensive Italian courses up to level B2 are offered at the School for International Education(https://www.unive.it/web/it/15437/home) before the start of the winter semester, for which students have to pay between 130-180 €. The School for International Education also offers language courses in conjunction with basic courses in Italian linguistics.
The Centro Linguistico di Ateneo(https://www.unive.it/pag/13998/ ) also offers language courses during the semester, which are held online and are subject to a fee.
For further information, please contact .
Semester contribution and fees during the mobility
Students admitted to the double degree program are required to pay the semester fees at TUD for the entire duration of the program. However, they are exempt from paying tuition fees at the partner university. The TU semester ticket can be suspended for the mobility period. (see https://tu-dresde n.de/studium/im-studium/studienorganisation/rueckmeldung).
A mobility grant can be applied for during the stay abroad. Further information can be found here:(https://tu-dresden.de/gsw/slk/studium/internationales/auslandsaufenthalt/erasmus-studium-1) Please note the application deadlines.

Notes on the procedure
Before leaving for the semester abroad at CaF, students must
- complete the enrolment or registration procedure at the host university in accordance with the regulations and deadlines specified there
- complete the Learning Agreement , in which the coursework to be completed at the partner university is listed and the equivalences to the courses provided for in the LiKWa curriculum at TUD are indicated. If students wish to make modifications to the agreed study plan before departure, they can complete a Learning Agreement Modification Form, which must be approved by both the coordinator at TUD and the coordinator at the host university CaF .
Before returning from the semester abroad, students must have the Certificate of Departure form signed by the partner university in order to be able to prove the end date of the mobility period.
As soon as the transcript of records issued by the host university, i.e. the certificate of the courses completed during the stay abroad, is available, students must send it to the coordinator.
The courses listed in the Transcript of Records must correspond to the courses agreed in the Learning Agreement and in any subsequent amendment forms.
Graduation
Students complete their studies at TU Dresden, following the procedures and deadlines indicated on the relevant website. (Access to the study documents at https://tu-dresden.de/gsw/slk/studium/studienangebot/master-likwa#section-2)
The final thesis is written at the TUD under the supervision of a professor at the CaF Venezia, who submits an expert opinion and proposes a grade.
After obtaining the German degree, the Examination Office will forward the necessary documents to the partner university CaF in order to initiate the procedure for issuing the Italian degree certificate.
Both degree certificates are legally recognized in the respective issuing countries.
For TUD students who have participated in this double degree Master's program, a bonus(lode) is also included in the calculation of the final grade of CaF, as is customary in Italy. Further information can be found on the website:(Valutazione e svolgimento prova finale.)
