Civil Engineering distance learning at the TU Dresden
As one of the oldest technical educational institutions in Germany, the TUD Dresden University of Technology is also the oldest German technical university distance learning institution. It is the only university in Germany to offer Civil Engineering distance learning.
This university technical distance learning program offers the ideal opportunity to combine studies and professional activity. There are currently over 570 distance learning students enrolled at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. They come from all over Germany and abroad. The age structure and previous professional knowledge are broadly diversified.
The professors and Research Associates are responsible for the teaching content of the distance learning course, who also hold the courses in the classroom.
In addition to the corresponding scripts in electronic form, multimedia documents and course videos are also available as study material to reinforce the subject matter.
For core subjects, special optional face-to-face events are offered for distance learning students; further consultations can of course be arranged individually with the respective lecturers. Oral and written examinations must be taken at TU Dresden.
Individual study plans allow all students to design their studies flexibly in terms of sequence and time, depending on their prior knowledge.
A bachelor's degree program and a postgraduate diploma program are offered, for which a bachelor's or university of applied sciences diploma in Civil Engineering is a prerequisite for admission.
