Invitation to the Presentation of Diploma Thesis
Topic: Navigation of Mobile Robots for Interiorer Constructions Tasks
The aim of this work is to investigate possible variants for the localization and navigation of an autonomous, mobile robot in a new building during the interior construction and to implement one variant as a simulation. An essential boundary condition is the existence of a complete, three-dimensional BIM model of the building, from which navigation aids for the robot can be generated in the form of a map.
For this purpose, special features and challenges of the construction industry regarding the use of robots on construction sites were first analyzed, possible navigation methods were researched and evaluated, and data transmission to the robot was investigated. Furthermore, different approaches to map generation from BIM models were investigated. The graphical or geometric approach to map generation was validated with the help of several simulations in the ROS (Robot Operating System) environment.
