Institute of Construction Informatics
The Institut für Bauinformatik is structured in two main units; the Chair and the Senior Professorship. Approximately 25 persons contribute to research, teaching and adminstration.
- Our Institut offers approximately 10 Modules in all degree programmes of the Dept. of Civil Engineering. Currently, a total of approximately 320 students study at our Institute in the Diplom-, Bachelor-, and Master degree programmes.
- Multiple research teams work in different research areas. Our major research area focuses on the investigation, development and implementation of cloud-based technologies used for Building Information Modelling, Information-Logistics and Multi-Model-Approaches.
- Recently, we established the novel research area of Modular Robot Systems Development. Another, well established research area, focuses on the development of cyberphysical systems and virtual engineering labs. The emphasis in this area is on sustainable, energy-efficient operation of buildings.
- Over the past three decades our institute was instrumental in establishing and co-ordinating numerous joint research projects on European and national level.
Currently, we participate in four EU-projects and three national projects. Both Professors have cooperated with more than onehundred peers from research and industry on national and international level over the past decade.
