Dresden Conference on Hydraulic Engineering
The 44th Dresden Conference on Hydraulic Engineering with the topic "Hydraulic Engineering between Flood and Water Shortage" will take place on March 04 and 05, 2021. It is intended to remain a vital and technically up-to-date platform for the topics of hydraulic engineering even in times of limited attendance. In March 2021, we will only be able to reach the traditionally large group of participants at our colloquium virtually. Therefore, for the first time, we are offering a digital event format that will not only allow you to participate in an attractive technical program, but also to engage in (inter)active discussion and communication with the speakers, participants and exhibitors.
This year, the Dresden Hydraulic Engineering Colloquium is dedicated to the possibilities of hydraulic engineering in the context of noticeably increasing water extremes. Climate change is also leading to an increased occurrence of extreme events such as floods, heavy rainfall and drought in Germany. In the last two decades, flood events in particular have received a great deal of attention, but increasingly the longer-term effects of water shortages are becoming noticeable, which are now putting a wide variety of systems under significant stress. Not only forestry, agriculture and water management or industry, shipping and transport are affected - entire ecosystems as well as our urban and rural habitats are already clearly feeling these upheavals!
