Ceremonial farewell of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Ulrich Häußler-Combe in the Dülfersaal of the TU Dresden
On 01.07.2022 in the Dülfersaal of the Technische Universität Dresden the ceremonial farewell of our highly esteemed colleague and institute professor Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Ulrich Häußler-Combe took place. In the presence of numerous guests and companions, Prof. Häußler-Combe held his farewell lecture on the topic "Concrete numerically - possibilities, side effects and risks".
Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Stamm
The Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Stamm, gave an interesting insight into the various stages of Ulrich Häußler-Combe's life in his speech. After his habilitation at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying of the TH Karlsruhe in 2001, he came to the Technische Universität Dresden in 2003 and occupied the professorship for Special Concrete Structures at the Institute of Solid Structures. In the period from 2003 to 2020, he successfully guided ten research assistants to doctoral degrees. During this time, Prof. Häußler-Combe was also responsible for numerous basic and application-oriented research projects. These included research work with the DFG as well as projects with the BMBF, AiF and other funding bodies. Prof. Jürgen Stamm emphasized the nomination for the Supervisor Award of the Graduate Academy of the Technische Universität Dresden in 2017 and acknowledged the excellent commitment, the professional and collegial work at and for the university and expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

The second speaker, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Manfred Curbach from the Institute of Solid Structures, got to know Ulrich Häußler-Combe during his own student days at the Technical University of Dortmund. Most of the young students around Curbach knew Häußler-Combe as the fantastic student from the 7th semester, who would certainly become a professor one day. This is what happened later, and Manfred Curbach was all the more pleased to be able to look back on a fulfilling time together at the Technische Universität Dresden on the occasion of the farewell lecture of the professor, colleague and friend on July 1, 2022. Manfred Curbach thanked Ulrich Häußler-Combe above all for the knowledge and experience that he has brought during his tenure beneficial to all at the Institute and the University.
We thank him for the time we spent together and wish him all the best for the future, especially good health, much joy and leisure for the beautiful things in life.
