At the Institute of Construction Materials, many projects are currently being worked on that focus on a variety of different aspects. For example, researchers are working on the mechanical behaviour of high-performance composites under different types of loading, the additive manufacturing of concrete structures and the testing of alternative reinforcements.

The Research Training Group 2250 - "Mineral-bonded composites for enhanced structural impact safety" is an interdisciplinary research programme that deals with the development of mineral-bonded composites with high impact resistance, design principles for the application of the developed material, as well as measurement methods and numerical simulations of the material behaviour.

The goal of the priority program is to ascertain and describe the scientific fundamentals for understanding and consecutively designing rheology-based construction processes as well as for developing innovative, sustainable building materials and associated pioneering processing technologies.
