Services
Our range of services includes the execution of standardized material tests as well as the development of new test setups for special test tasks, which cannot be solved with standardized tests. We have many years of experience in the fields of destructive and non-destructive material testing. A further focus is on planning, carrying out and evaluating experimental load bearing capacity analyses. Furthermore, our employees
have extensive experience with textile reinforced concrete. This applies to the production of new components as well as the execution of strengthening work. A short description of the services offered is compiled below.
DESTRUCTIVE MATERIAL TESTING
- static and dynamic tension, compression, and bending tests
- Spaltzug- und Haftzugfestigkeit
- Determination of modulus of elasticity and Poisson’s ratio
- Arbeitslinien
- Properties for fracture mechanics
- Multiaxial compression and tensile strength tests
- Characteristics of textile concrete
- Bond tests
- Spezialversuche an Prüfkörpern unterschiedlichster Geometrie und Beschaffenheit
NON-DESTRUCTIVE MATERIAL TESTING
- ultrasound scan
- Rebound values
- Locating of steel reinforcement
- Measurement of forces, displacements, and strains including photogrammetry
- (Video-) Endoscopy
- Creep and shrinkage tests
Experimentelle Tragsicherheitsanalyse an bestehenden Bauwerken
Buildings are usually designed for a limited service life and the function of the structure is normally defined precisely at the time of its construction. Over time, there are various influences, such as Increasing traffic load, lack of maintenance, unforeseen environmental influences and associated aging or a planned conversion, to the fact that the current load safety is not known. Unfortunately, there are often no or only insufficient building documents available to statically evaluate the load-bearing capacity. For these reasons, it may be useful in certain cases to determine and evaluate the load-bearing capacity experimentally in order to determine remaining service life or to demonstrate the carrying capacity for conversion. The Otto-Mohr-Laboratory has the following tasks:
- Determination of the current stability and serviceability of structures or building parts as a basis for estimating the remaining service life and cost planning
- Investigations on bridges and buildings, as well as listed buildings
- Realistic determination of the boundary conditions for a planned change in the use of buildings
- Force and displacement measurements
- In addition to vertical loads (ceiling or undercarriage test), horizontal loads (for example, proof of horizontal loading of railings) are also possible
