Postgraduate studies
The Faculty of Civil Engineering conducts postgraduate studies for graduates of a bachelor's degree program with at least 180 credit points from the field of civil engineering or technical college studies with at least eight semesters of regular study time from the field of civil engineering. The standard duration of study for this is 4 semesters including the processing time for the project and diploma thesis. The postgraduate studies are completed with the academic degree of Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.).
The course of studies can be started in the winter semester. It has a modular structure and comprises two compulsory modules, one technical compulsory elective module and six modules of a specialization to be selected, which enables the student to set a focus. The following specializations are available for selection:
Structural Engineering (KI)
Construction Management (BB)
Urban Engineering and Transportation (SV)
Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (WU)
Computational Engineering (CE)
Building Energy Management (GEM)
The curriculum is spread over three semesters. The fourth semester is dedicated to the preparation of the diploma thesis. For further information please refer to the corresponding Ordnungen for postgraduate studies.
